I Started running in August, 1983, upon the recommendation of my family physician. I found it to be a great stress-reliever, that I had new-found energy and, as I began to log miles, I developed a great feeling of accomplishment. As I continued to train, I began to live a healthier lifestyle. In July, 2003, I had a heart attack while running the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta, and had 6 coronary bypasses before returning home. I'm sure my actions 20 years earlier set me on the path that allowed me to survive the event, have a rapid recovery and continue doing what I'd grown to love - run. Since then, I've run 5 marathons, including Boston twice, and have logged almost 11,000 miles.
