Meeting Items - Sponsorship Opportunities;
Murray Honick. Contacted by Molly Smith, Assistant Director, NHC Healthcare, regarding being a sponsor for GSRC events. No contact yet, but will continue efforts. - GSRC Website & online Registration Fees;
Julie Dural & Kevin McCallum. New web site expected to “go-live” later tonight. Site already has several club members logged onto it. Site was used to send an e-mail blast in support of the Beach Sweep 5K on 9/19. Site has gotten outstanding reviews from people who have looked at it. Terry Layton. Online registration costs will be 5.5% of event fee + $0.50 per transaction. This compares to 6.5% + $2 per transaction which appears to be a “industry standard”. For a $20 registration, the Club transaction fee will be $1.60 versus $3.30 elsewhere. The Huntington Beach 5K will be the first Club event to use this new online registration. - Upcoming GSRC Runs

Jane Serues, Race Director. This is a weekly training program for women starting 9/2 & 9/3 at Mclean Park, North Myrtle Beach. Contact Jane at serues@verizon.com for details. - Beach Sweep 5K
Jim Troxell, Race Director. GSRC event sponsored by city of North Myrtle Beach. This event replaces the former SOS Beach Run. Due to a high tide, the event will be on NMB city streets this year. Registrations have already begun to come in. Volunteers needed. Contact Jim at 843-272-1717 for details. - Huntington Beach 5K
Dan Monarch, Race Director. Huntington Beach Event permit has been signed. Event date is Oct. 3. A race flyer for distribution at Tanger 5K on 8/29 is needed. Contact Dan at phyldanm@aol.com for details. - CareTeam
Jim Troxell, Race Director. GSRC will produce this event on November 7 for the local Aids CareTeam. The event will be a 5K Run/Walk around the lake across from Market Common on Withers Preserve. CareTeam expects 150+ walkers. Contact Jim at 843-272-1717 for details. - Turkey Trot
Jim Troxell, Race Director. This is a Coastal Running Group event. There were 400 first event year participants and 650 second year participants. This year, the third year, close to 1,000(?) participants expected. Contact Jim at 843-272-1717 for details. - NMB Winter Run
No report. - GSRC Runs in the City of Myrtle Beach;
Terry Layton. MB city race event fees are $350 Special Event permit fee + police safety plan estimated at about 6 police oficers + a supervisor costing $580 and Workman's comp insurance for the police costing $750 annually. Total cost is $980 per event plus $750 annually. This cost makes it impossible for the Club to put on small races in the city of MB. - Fall Kids Running Program
St James, Catherine Siebert Conway Middle, Lindsey Clugston Terry Layton. Two Kids Running programs are expected to be in place this fall. The programs will teach kids non-competitive running and prepare them to take part in the CareTeam 5K in November. - Quarterly Newsletter

- Fastest Kin in Horry County had ~200 participants
Next yr Fastest Kid on 3/11/09 Had 150 Kids in MBT&FC Summer Training 4 Qualified for National Jr Olympics in Greensboro ~30 Qualified for Regionals - 2010 MBT&FC Summer training will start week after Fastest Kid
- AAU will have T&F Meet on Memorial Day, 2010
- Some kind of Event every weekend after that to end of June
- MB Half Marathon
